| I've bought his books on CD and I prefer the ones that are live broadcasts. When he records in a studio, he falls flat. Add to that the fact that he's rehashed what he's already said on previous CD's and it makes a boring listen. He also borrows from other prosperity teachers such as Catherine Ponder and the late Rev. | Joel Osteen has written a good book, better than expected. Unlike his detractors who harp on his lack of activism and his less than impressive academic credentials, I find him an inspiring speaker and writer who is much more genuine and sincere than many other pastors. Lakewood was his father's church. He took it over reluctantly when his father died and of course has built it into a colossus. He and his wife have been married for over 20 years.
